Working sail boats such as those in the Falmouth Oyster fleet still operate commercially, while elegantly giving pleasure to all those fortunate enough to see them, be they salty seadogs or other welcome summer visitors.
Restored working sailing boats, built a century or more ago in some instances still exist today in the hands of loving enthusiasts. Many started life as Luggers from Cornish yards situated in ports such as St Ives, Porthleven, Portmellon, Mevagissey and Looe.
Our Regatta, on the 22nd, 23rd and 24th June 2012 gives you the opportunity to see these wonderful vessels up close, moored in the beautiful fishing village of Mevagissey. They will also parade and race, and who knows, you may actually be lucky enough to be asked to step aboard!
Boat owners are cordially invited to take part in this year's Regatta. Please download the entry form and return it to us as soon as possible. Thank you.
This the the Regatta is joining forces with the hugely popular Mevagissey Feast Week event. This draws in crowds every year, and accommodation booking is recommended.
